Krista Vaicaitis is a vibrant individual with a deep love of travel, arts and culture. Currently, she is in a transitional period in her career.
Looking back on her time in the education field, it has become evident that Krista enjoys enlightening others on the ways of the world and encouraging a learning attitude throughout life’s experiences. She has grown to learn that education can be embraced in various settings; it doesn’t have to be confined to a classroom. Looking forward, Krista hopes to combine her love of teaching with her other passions. Although she doesn’t have a clear picture of what this looks like, she does dream of merging her talents together in some fashion.
One of Krista’s top passions is cooking. She has always been interested in the culinary arts and truly views it as an expression of herself. Krista Vaicaitis may not have studied cooking professionally, but she has embraced this passion to the fullest. She has risen as a culinary expert in her friend groups and family circle. Not only does she enjoy following other recipes, but she also puts much time and energy into curating her own recipes, putting twists on classics and thinking up innovative ways to use ingredients she has on hand. Her closest friends and colleagues have come to look forward to her cooking and can one day see her releasing a cookbook. Krista can often be seen exploring various markets in search of unusual and exciting ingredients to inspire new recipes of hers.
Krista’s love of cooking coincides with her love of travel, as she is always willing to try new cultural dishes and experiment with recreating them on her own. Krista Vaicaitis has spent much of her adult life embracing this passion and traveling to new places to get a taste of diverse cultures. Whether she is traveling to a neighboring city or a foreign village, Krista understands the value of experiencing new cultures and ways of living. A traveler could visit a destination a mere two hours from their own home and be met with cultural differences they never knew existed. These differences are what motivate Krista to keep traveling and learning about the world around her.
Travel is an immersive way to experience different cultures, form meaningful relationships and find common ground with individuals of varying ethnicities, geographical locations and cultural backgrounds. Whether it is through listening to foreign music, participating in local traditions, educating herself on the native’s values, or sampling and recreating cultural foods, Krista Vaicaitis celebrates what makes each society unique and, in return, learns much about herself in the process.
An ideal career for Krista would include being able to combine her skills as an educator, home cook, traveler and writer. Being able to turn these various talents and passions into a profitable vocation would be a dream for her.
